I recently added custom wrought iron handrails to my sunken game room for guest safety, but I really wanted a wooden top to complement my maple hardwood floors. Integrating a wooden handrail onto the existing wrought iron design proved to be quite a challenge, but Mark made the entire process seamless. The final design is stunning, and the wooden handrails match my floors perfectly. Mark’s attention to detail was exceptional; you would think this was a project for his own home. Working with Peak Design & Fabrication has been an amazing experience. They took the time to listen to our needs and worked with us to come up with a personalized design for our Sprinter build. We had 4 specific needs: 1) Keeping the original three seat setup for the kids. 2) A kitchen/water system that can be easily switched from summer mode to winter mode. 3) To maximize storage 4) A robust power system able to run A/C during the hot summer on batteries.
The build was very personalized for our family’s specific needs. We have three kids and wanted keep the original seats because of safety, but keeping the original seats where they are poses a significant problem because of the size of the 144 wheel base platform. After multiple revisions, Peak Design was able to come up with a solution for us to keep the “crew seats” and keep our kids within arms reach. As for the kitchen sink/water system, that was fairly complex. We had a lot of specific wants and Mark was able to design a system that we can switch to winter mode simply by just flipping a handle which allows us to use the rig during the winter and not be afraid of freezing pipes but still able to use our kitchen. Oh, did we mentioned that he was able to fit a hot water heater paired with 25 gallon fresh and 30 gallon gray water tanks with the system that allows us to have instant hot showers?
Easy access storage was very important to us. With a family of 5 there is a lot of gear. Mark designed lightweight aluminum frame cabinets with inset doors on both sides of the van for additional storage. The cabinets were lightweight so the van is not top heavy and the inset doors make the tight van feel roomy and match the van interior perfectly.
Lastly the power system we wanted on a such a tight van was very challenging. Mark was able to come up with a system that allows us to have 400 amp hours capacity paired with two 30 amp DC to DC chargers that charge everything while we are driving. This actually eliminates the need of solar panels and reduced the weight on the top of the van. The ability to run the A/C unit entirely off of the batteries is fantastic for those summer road trips where you need to take a quick nap at a reststop or get out of the heat while waiting for the kids to finish their tournament.

Mahogany Entertainment Center and Curio Cabinet by Peak Design & Fabrication
Kelly and I were looking for two pieces of furniture to complete our great room. After speaking with Mark, we realized that for a reasonable cost we could have furniture of heirloom quality to complete the furnishing of our great room.
We had an initial meeting with Mark and discussed our vision of what the finished product would look like and the materials to be used. This allowed Mark to make preliminary drawings and a fabrication schedule for us to review. After sitting and reviewing the preliminary design documents as a team, Mark produced final design documents, material list, fabrication schedule and a lump sum price.
